The bustling medina, majestic mosques, and beautiful sandy beaches attract thousands of tourists from around the world every year. Traveling through Morocco, sooner or later you'll reach its capital and most important administrative center – Rabat, situated on the ocean, at the mouth of the Bou Regreg River. It is one of four imperial cities, along with Fez, Marrakesh, and Meknes. In 2012, Rabat – encompassing both the historic medina and the modernist part of the city – was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Hassan Tower, rising majestically above the bridge spanning the Bou Regreg River, is the only remaining part of an unfinished mosque dating back to the reign of Caliph Yaqub Al-Mansoura, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, whose green roof and ornamentation are a real eye-catcher. Besides the Tower and the Mausoleum, other major attractions include the 14th-century baths, the Dar el-Makhzen royal palace, and the Shellah, a complex of ancient and medieval ruins on the outskirts of Rabat. Today, musicians in traditional Moroccan costumes can be found here, beating a steady rhythm on drums, tapping castanets, and dancing so vigorously that the colors of their clothes flash before the eyes. Here, the past meets the present, and the tranquility of the quiet ruins meets the sounds of dance and music.

Don't forget that Rabat is located on the coast, so there is no shortage of sandy beaches. To the north of the city stretches the famous Plage des Nations with the neighboring gardens Les Jardins Exotiques, while to the south you can enjoy the powdery sand of the Temara and Skhirat beaches. In addition to the views and excellent conditions for sunbathing, the area's advantage is a very well-developed infrastructure with numerous clubs, cafes and restaurants.
