Manuel Antonio National Park

This is the smallest (only 19,83 km²) and at the same time the most popular national park in Costa Rica. It is an area of ​​the coast protected from destruction since 1972. In 2011, Forbes magazine recognized the park as one of the twelve most beautiful in the world. Here you can find beautiful, golden beaches in the bay of the Pacific Ocean, where you can relax after swimming in picturesque bays, and then cool off in the shade of rustling and lush palm trees, which are part of the tropical jungle. This place is home to over 100 species of mammals and many species of birds, whose sounds can be heard almost everywhere. It is here that agile capuchins jump in the trees, relaxed sloths stretch on long branches, ruffled iguanas look out for newcomers, and a huge number of crabs cause a mysterious rustle as they escape into the thicket of leaves.

The park is very well prepared in terms of trails, which are clear, well marked, allowing you to reach the most interesting places and viewpoints. From numerous viewpoints you can admire the sea, rocks sticking out of it, winding white beaches hidden in bays and nearby islets. One day is enough for you to complete all the trails, together with the purchase of tickets you will receive a nice map that will allow you to discover the most interesting places in the park. It is best to start visiting Manuel Antonio Park early in the morning, preferably from seven, the number of tourists arriving here before noon is really large. The area available for sightseeing is about 7 km².
