General Information

Delhi is a capital city where its intriguing past is scattered beneath the surface of a modern and dynamically developing city. The city is often referred to as India in a nutshell, because you can experience many extreme emotions here, from delight at the wealth and stunning architecture to anxiety at the sight of poverty and misery existing right next door. Forming one organism, old and new Delhi are two contrasting worlds. On one side, the winding, narrow streets of the crowded former capital of the Muslim Indian state, and on the other, the orderly modern colonial district, the seat of government and numerous embassies.

Delhi will be your first stop upon arrival in the Indian subcontinent. Start with a rickshaw ride around the capital's most important sites, see the Red Fort, Grand Mosque and India Gate, and end your tour at a restaurant where you will discover true Indian culinary art.
