Tasiilaq

Tasiilaq – the largest (as many as 2000 inhabitants!) city in eastern Greenland, located about 106 km south of the Arctic Circle, is called “the face turned towards the world”. Its beautiful location, surrounded by soaring peaks, above a bay with majestic icebergs, is unique even for Greenland. Every morning, after waking up, you will be accompanied by the view of the jagged, sharp peaks of Mount Polheim, Mount Priest, Pyramid and Mount Sailor, and just outside the city fences a bag of attractions will open up before you: you can go hiking, kayak, go in search of whales, sail a boat to the Sermilik Fjord or finally try to explore the secrets of the Inyutian culture – unique and very little known among Europeans. You also cannot miss the Valley of Flowers, covered in a dense, multi-coloured carpet in summer, situated at the foot of one of the most beautiful mountains in the area, whose landscape is enriched by numerous, charming waterfalls, piled up on the stream that winds here.

If you choose the winter months for your Greenland vacation, you will also have plenty of entertainment! Maybe a dog sled ride or a snowmobile trip to the nearby settlement of Tiniteqilaaq? If you want to go skiing, there are many options – from well-prepared downhill slopes, through cross-country trails, to exciting – and extreme – heliskiing. And for those looking for really strong sensations – an expedition to the white desert of the glacier!
