Uga Chena Huts

Hidden in lush vegetation, right next to the Yala National Park and a sandy lagoon, the five-star Uga Chena Huts is a boutique hotel consisting of 18 private, luxurious huts. Set on a seven-hectare private estate covered with palms and bushes, it offers guests complete privacy, peace and direct contact with nature. The architecture of the facility is inspired by traditional huts used by Sri Lankan farmers and trackers - low buildings blending into the landscape, natural materials, large glass surfaces and private terraces from which you can admire wild animals passing by.

LOCATION

Located about 5 minutes drive from the entrance to Yala National Park and 40 minutes from Tissamaharama town. Colombo airport is about 5 hours away. The hotel is located on a secluded beach and lagoon.

ACCOMMODATION

The hotel offers just 18 luxurious, air-conditioned cottages, with private pools and comfortable interiors decorated in safari chic style - with wood, linen, raw stone and carefully selected details. Guests have access to, among others, a TV, a safe, a tea set, a coffee machine, a minibar, a sound system and Wi-Fi. Each bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, shower, bathrobes, a hairdryer and free toiletries.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS

• The Basses – Set in an open pavilion overlooking the beach and lagoon, the dishes are prepared with local produce, often inspired by Ayurvedic cuisine and seasonal availability of ingredients.
• Bar – located right next to the restaurant, a bar where you can start the evening with a glass of wine or end the day with an aromatic cocktail. In the summer, there is also a beach bar – the perfect place for an aperitif at sunset.
