Japamala

The five-star boutique Japamala Hotel is located on Malaysia's Tioman Island, on a pristine tropical beach, overlooking turquoise waters and surrounded by lush rainforest. The hotel features a swimming pool with a waterfall and a spa offering treatments and massages. The beach is equipped with cabanas, sun loungers, and bamboo mats. Three restaurants serve Asian and Italian cuisine. A floating bar built on stilts offers refreshing cocktails. The hotel also organizes diving, fishing, boat trips, kayaking, and jungle trekking.    

LOCATION 

The hotel is located on the west coast of Tioman Island, in southeastern Malaysia, within a protected marine park. Surrounded by tropical rainforest, the property is situated directly on the sea. Access to the island is via ferry from Mersing or Tanjung Gemok on the mainland, followed by a boat transfer to the resort. Direct flights from Kuala Lumpur are also available. The flight takes approximately 1,5 hours, and from the airport in Tekek, you can easily travel to other parts of the island. The location is ideal for snorkeling, diving, and exploring the island's natural beauty.

ACCOMMODATION

The hotel offers accommodation in eight types of cottages and villas: cottages with verandas are located high in the treetops and on the cliffs overlooking the sea, while terrace villas are located on the beach and in the jungle. All are air-conditioned and equipped with a TV, DVD/CD player, minibar (extra charge), and coffee maker. Bathrooms include a rain shower, hairdryer, and toiletries. Some villas have private pools, while those located on the hillside and some in the jungle have outdoor showers and bathtubs.

• Hillside Sarang (60 m²) – occupancy: max. 2 adults, two-level villa, queen-size bed, forest view, swimming pool on the terrace.
• Seaview Sarang (75 m²) – capacity: max. 2 adults, queen-size bed, kitchenette, dining area, partial sea view, two swimming pools on the terrace.
• Beach Sarang (140 m²) – occupancy: max. 2 adults, king-size bed, forest view, direct access to the beach, swimming pool on the terrace.
• The Penghulu House (150 m²) – occupancy: max. 4 adults, two floors, two bedrooms, king-size bed and two single beds, two bathrooms, partial sea view, swimming pool on the terrace.
